KSH. 800 MILLION KANGUNDO ROAD MARKET COMPLETE, SET FOR OPENING
The newly built Kangundo road Market formerly known us Wakulima market is now 98 percent complete with rebranding exercise almost ending.
The market which was built at a cost of Ksh. 800 Million will see hundreds of traders benefiting from stalls and other trading allocations.
Today County executive for trade Rosemary Kariuki inspected the market just few days before it is officially opened by Governor Johnson Sakaja.
“What is happening is that a lot of final work is on-going in preparation of official opening, we have a lot of branding of county colours ,logo and the new look for the county government of Nairobi,” she said.
She further stated that the refurbishment of other markets is also on-going and soon Nairobi markets will have a new face.
“We are doing a lot and in terms in our markets and we have a very able waziri who will take care of sanitation. We are doing city park market among others,” she added.
Meanwhile traders have applauded the project saying they will benefit small scale traders at large.
“Hii soko itakua fiti Kwa traders sisi tulifurushwa na mademolition na tunashukuru gavanare Kwa kutojali na kuhakikisha kuwa tunapata space,” Steve Kariuki a trader at Kangundo Road Market said.
