Association of lawyers from Kisii region over the weekend to strengthen their unity ahead of anticipated Law Society of Kenya ( LSK) elections.

Currently, the campaigns for key posts are at the top gear.

The election will see a new council elected by lawyers to replace the current team led by President Eric Theuri among other officials whose two-year term is in the homestreach

Faith Odhiambo ,who is serving as Theuri’s deputy, is running to replace him at the apex of trade union.

A part from union’s president top job, also most sought after, is LSK representative to the Judicial Service Commission (JSC),the position that has attracted legal pundits among Omwanza Ombati and Erick Theuri

Vying candidates have been silently traversing the country across the regions meeting the lawyers to ask for their vote.

Omwanza on Saturday met lawyers from Kisii region under the coucas Gusii Advocates Forum (GAF) in the last mile vote hunt.

During the gala, the lawyers associated with GAF pledged to vote Omwanza as their preferred candidate based on his stellar profession record and leadership skills.

He was endorsed by former Judge at the East Africa Court of Justice Charles Nyachae, Danstan Omari and Majority Chief whip in the national assembly Sylvanus Osoro among other renowned lawyers.

At the gala, Omwanza noted the effort of many young lawyers in the legal profession.

In tailored t message, Omwanza promised to ensure all members of LSK are served with equity and fairness reach and swing them their way.
