The Law Society of Kenya Elections Board has agreed to convene a meeting to hear and determine a complaint by lawyer Shadrack Wambui on his exclusion from the Law Society of Kenya council Nairobi branch list of candidates.
The board’s Secretary Dr Owiso Owiso, in response to Wambui, said that board acknowledges the complaint by the Wambui on 18th January 2024 and will convene a virtual meeting on 31st Wednesday 2024 to expeditiously hear the submission by the candidates.
“The Board acknowledges receipt of your complain 18th January 2024,delivered through email and physically,the Board hereby informs you that will convene virtually on Wednesday 31January 2024 from 10.00am to hear oral submissions on the complaint received.” Read the dispatch.
The board further directed lawyer Shadrak Wambui to respond by Friday 26th January 2026 on whether he would like to make oral submission s or the board to make decisions based on the written complaints filed on 18th January 2024.
LSK Election Board rejected lawyer Shadrack Wambui from consenting in the hotly contested LSK Nairobi branch chapter representative on the ground that he was nominated by senior lawyer domiciled in Mombasa regions.
According to the LSK elections criteria ,a candidate must be nominated by a practicing lawyer eligible to vie for the same position of the contested.
