Court proceedings at the Milimani Law Courts Nairobi County Kenya, have been halted for over three hours due to a power outage.
The blackout which occurred at 9:45 am left litigants and lawyers on court corridors with their submissions.
Prison officers were also forced to use their phone spot lights to enhance security of the accused in remand further awaiting directions.
Some of the anticorruption courts which are naturally well lit are however still proceeding.
It is said that the blackout was occasioned by a faulty transformer.
In January 2022 Kenya Power Chief Manager in charge of energy transmission Sammy Muita and other employees were charged at the Anticorruption court with supplying faulty transformers and irregular procurement procedures
