LeBron James has made history after surpassing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar as the most prolific scorer in NBA history.

Currently in his 20th season in the league, Lebron finally eclipsed Abdul-Jabbar’s total of 38,387 points after making a 21-foot shot late in the third quarter against Oklahoma City Thunder.

Besides the star players best efforts, The Lakers eventually lost the game 133-130 to Thunder but the new record seemed to be the only bit of news taken from the game.

The “King” raised his arms in celebration when he made the shot realizing that he had finally passed the 39 year record by a single point. The new record stands at 38,388 points.

NBA legend, Abdul-Jabbar was sitting court side and was among the first to give Lebron a standing ovation as the game grinded to a halt to acknowledge the moment in NBA history.
