University Consultative Council Forum and the lecturers union UASU on Monday held a meeting to iron-out  grand issues between them to end the five week strike in public universities.

According to UASU secretary general Dr. Constantine Wasonga the government is yet to explain to them how  the pension  funds  resulted on previous CBAs will be paid among other issues.

The 5.3 billion shillings agreed to be released by the government will only cater for dons’ house allowance and basic salary increase.

UASU National Executive Council will now meet on Wednesday to discuss the today’s deliberation before making a decision.

According to labour laws the union NEC through secretary general is the only body mandated in calling off union strikes.
