Leopards Coach optimistic of closing the gap with their rivals

Newly appointed AFC Leopards Coach Zappata has lauded his squad for their display against Kogalo in the Hull City Challenge despite losing the match on post match penalties.

Speaking after the match the argentine said that he was optimistic of winning the league saying it is too early .

“In the league, we will go step by step and I believe it is still open. This is Leopards and I believe we are going to build on this,” Zapata said post match.

After ninety minutes of normal time the matchended 0-0, penalties were called upon to separate the sides where goal-keeper, Shaban Odhoji, came off the bench to save a penalty after Jacques Tuyisenge missed Gor’s first.

Meddie Kagere, Geoffrey Walusimbi, George Odhiambo, Joachim Oluoch and Bernard Ondiek scored for Gor while AFC’s Ezekiel Odera, Baker Lukooya, Duncan Otieno and Robinson Kamura converted theirs.

Gor-Mahia will meet English Championship side Hull City in a friendly on 13th May.
