This year’s elections featured a number of celebrities who had shown interest in politics and made the decision to run for various elective posts.
Here is the list of Kenyan celebrities who had political ambitions and how they are fairing on so far being the second day of counting and tallying of votes.
Felix Odiwuor known famously as Jalang’o managed to get the most votes as the Member of Parliament for Lang’ata constituency.
His competitor Nixon Korir who was the MP for the area conceded to defeat and congratulated the former radio presenter as he prepares to take on from him.
“From the results that we’ve tallied at the Generali centre, my competitor Jalango has a lead and I want to congratulate his as he prepares to take the mantle and move Langata forward. Siasa si chuki. God bless Langata.” He stated.
Former radio presenter and events hype man Davidson Ngibuini famously known as DNG, has thanked the residents of Woodly ward for electing him in office as their area MCA.
“Thank you for burning the midnight oil with me. I am happy to announce that 24 Hours into it, we have clinched the Woodley Kenyatta Golf Course Ward MCA Seat!!! We fought hard as a Team. We have campaigned hard as a team and have overcome all odds as a team. Most importantly, God has seen us through.” Wrote DNG.
Musician Gabu who was amongst his competitors accepted defeat at the same time thanking his supporters for showing up for him.
Other celebrities who have accepted defeat after missing out on various posts are Njambi Koikai who was vying for the Dagoretti South parliamentary seat and MC Jessy who was after the South Imenti parliamentary seat.
