Lucky Summer Residents Decry water Shortage

Residents in Nairobi’s Lucky Summer Estate now want the Nairobi Water Company and Sewerage Company to come up with a better solution regarding the water rationing in the area.

The residents claim that they have been getting water only once in a week for a few hours.

Walter Buleti an area residents says that they suspect that the water is being diverted to the private slaughterhouse in the area.

“We have been experiencing a lot of water problems in the estate and we are having a lot of questions because we have not been experiencing water shortage in the area. We are experiencing the shortage because most of the water is being diverted to the slaughter house in the area hence affecting the residents of the area,” Buleti said.

He also requested the Nairobi Water Company and Sewerage Company to look into the matter so as to help the residents.

“We are requesting the relevant authorities to take a look into the matter because we have never experienced such an issue in our area and it has affected the residents because we have never had such a problem for a long time.”

Christine Achieng a resident of Lucky Summer says that lack of water will affect children by contracting Covid-19 because there is shortage of water.

“I would like to ask the relevant authorities to look into the matter because we are greatly affected especially our children who might get affected with Covid-19.Us parents we are also affected especially with our washroom which requires running water to keep them clean,” Christine says

A check by Ghetto radio has proven that most area surrounding Lucky Summer are experiencing water shortage for instance areas like Kariobangi and Dandora.

Our efforts to reach Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company are still unfruitful. The Managing Director Nahashon Muguna is out of the country.
