Lucky Summer School Absolves Itself From Wrong Doing After Teacher Allegedly Defiles Pupil

Landmark Primary School in Lucky Summer Ruaraka Sub-county has absolved itself from any wrong doing in a case where a teacher from the school was charged for defilement.

Daniel Masiga was arraigned in court and accused of defiling a class seven pupil at the school.

Landmark School Head-teacher David Okango says the school reacted promptly after parent to the defiled pupil reported the matter to the school on Thursday morning last week.

“The parents came with a small group of young men… they came to my office and told me that their child has been defiled and they mentioned teacher Daniel Masiga… I then called  him  down stairs and when he was asked about the matter he was very  shocked and started crying…the brother to the defiled pupil lost his cool and almost hit him ….I left them and to rushed to Lucky Summer police post where I reported the matter…the police came and arrested teacher Masiga,” the head-teacher narrated.

The parents also involved the MSF doctors that did a parallel medical checkup and it was found that there was penetration in her private parts.

The pupil also mentioned the name of carwash attendant but later changed and finally cropped in Masiga.

“Before the parents came they had a doctor’s report confirming the same and we can now agree that in deed she was defiled ….the unanswered questions becomes where and by who? The girl mentioned a car wash attendant whom the family confronted also and the man was assaulted, she later twisted and mentioned Masiga,” he added.

He is now calling on parents to stay calm and let justice take its course.

“Masiga was arrested, he was charged and there is nothing much I can do… I want to ask parents and general public that their child are on safe hands and that the schools is doing exemplary well…..those who are capitalising on the matter to give a bad image because of business interest should also stop, the school is not responsible for individual behaviours of both the teachers and pupils,” he told Ghetto Radio News.

Our efforts to reach the parents of the defiled pupil still remains unfruitful as our phone calls went an answered.
