Madaraka Day Preparations In Top Gear In Kisumu

The National Celebrations Committee in charge of Madaraka Day Celebrations yesterday inspected the progress of renovation work at the Jomo Kenyatta Sports Ground at Mamboleo in Kisumu County.

Kisumu County is set to host this year’s celebrations that take place on June 1 every year.

The Committee headed by Interior PS Dr. Karanja Kibicho , ICT PS Jerome Ochieng and other leaders yesterday visited the stadium for inspection just two weeks to the main event.

Kibicho stated that so far the committee is impressed by the renovation progress and that they believe that all the renovation works will be over by the time the event.

“We the National Celebrations Committee are impressed with the progress of the renovation works at Jomo Kenyatta Sports Ground, the venue of the event,” stated Kibicho.

The Jomo Kenyatta Sports Ground can host a maximum of 3,000.

The celebrations will be led by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
