Young leaders, aspirants and Kenyans at large have today celebrated in style the 77th birthday of Orange Democratic Movement leader Raila Odinga.
The country organiser Julius Owino alias Majimaji says the celebrations were decentralized to give a chance to every Kenyan to be part of the event.
“This is the first of its kind and we have broken the norm to give Kenyans an opportunity to celebrate this important occasion with Baba across the country and we are happy with the turnout,” Majimaji told the media at Kencom.
“Raila has done a lot to this country and am also acknowledging Westlands MP Tim Wanyonyi for supporting us to hold this event at Kencom… Raila deserves respect and honour and we are celebrating him,” Majimaji said.
Similar celebrations have been conducted across the country as leaders led Wananchi in cutting the birthday cake.
At Kencom street families also got an opportunity to mingle with leaders and even sharing meals with them.
“Tumesikia poa Kucelebrate birthday ya Rao Kwa street na si kuzikemba Kwa Tv ni kitu poa tumepewa chai na mandazi tumepewa mpaka keki na kwangu naona ni kitu poa Kwa watu walifikiria hivi Kwa masafara jah bless,” Jairus Ndung’u a street family member told Ghetto Radio News.
