Diamond Platnumz’s TV station Wasafi TV has been banned for six months for violating broadcasting regulations by the Tanzania Communication Regulatory Authority (TCRA).

In a statement TCRA’s Acting Director stated that they have banned Wasafi TV for allegedly televising live singer and socialite Gigy Money while dancing almost naked.

In the statement Karungura ordered Wasafi TV to stop transmission with immediate effect and offer an apology.

Karungura further warned that further action will be taken on Wasafi TV if the ban is not effected.

Wasafi TV is apparently not the only TV to suffer a ban in Tanzania in August 27, 2020, Clouds FM and Clouds TV suffered a similar fate after TCRA suspended them for seven days for allegedly violating election coverage regulations.
