A resolution by the National Police Service to move the Kaloleni Chief’s from its current place to pave way for the construction of the Kaloleni Post has elicited sharp reactions from area residents.
The resolution which was made this year has even seen the Makongeni Location Chief and the police disagree since the area chief has so far not been given an alternative office location.
According to Makongeni Location Nyumba Kumi Association chairman Michael Maganzo the community has no any other land and that the camp had been hosting the chief Makongeni location and two assistant chiefs who provide crucial services to the residents.
‘‘The chiefs’ camp has been with us for over 30 years …it has served the community well,we are now being told the camp has to relocate to an unknown location to pave way for a police post, this will affect all services that we as a community receive from the chief’s office,’’he said.
They are now calling on the area leaders to ensure that the chief’s camp stays until they get an amicable solution.
