Makongeni youth protest against arrest of colleagues
A section of Makongeni youth are calling for the release of their fellow youths who were arrested today morning over allegations of robbery with violence.
The three boys namely, Kime, Shaban and Nick were picked today morning by DCI officers after area MCA Peter Imwatok lodged a complaint with the police.
The youth claim that the four boys are innocent and that claims of robbery are false.
“Our fellow youth were arrested today morning by DCI Officers. The boys were arrested after our MCA Peter Imwatok lodged a complaint with the police officers. Imwatok complained that the boys had robbed him with violence,” complained one resident.
The youth claim that the MCA was reportedly paying back after he was heckled during a football tournament on Sunday.
MCA Imwatok however claims that the youth vandalized his car and stole his watch on Sunday during a football tournament.
‘‘They whisked me broke my car, eye glasses, robbed me my cash and attacked my security details as if they were dealing with criminals I can’t take this I have a right like any other Kenyans let them not misuse my position to vandalise my properties,’’ Imwatok said.
‘‘Tomorrow I will be in court I will demonstrate with clear evidence of what happened and I cannot accept this let them desist from attending my events,’’ he added.
