A man has been arraigned at the Milimani Law Courts and charged with stealing a laptop from the office of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission.
Musa Ogendo Sirangi an employee of DMS Limited is said to have committed the offence on 17th August 2022
However the accused person who appeared before the Senior Principal Magistrate Robinson Ondieki could not plead to the criminal charge said that he had been beaten up in the police station where he was held.
“I’m requesting that I get urgent medical attention, because I was beaten up at the police station where I was locked,” Sirangi complained.
The trial magistrate directed that the accused person be taken to the hospital and be produced to court on 22nd August 2022 for purpose of plea taking.
“I direct that the accused person be taken to the hospital be brought back on Monday 22nd August 2022,” Mr Ondieki directed.
The prosecuting counsel James Wachira did oppose the accused person being taken to the hospital
According to the charge sheet the accused person stole Hp probook laptop 430 GB serial number 5CD2216NGD valued at Ksh 226,240
