Man Behind The Coordinated Killing Of Kitengela Men Arrested


Police have arrested the prime suspect behind the murder of the four young men in Kitengela, Kajiado County.

Benson Melonyie Ole Mungai, 40 was arrested from his hideout in Kitengela town on Monday evening.

DCI Officers say that Mungai allegedly led the coordinated killing of the four young men who included two brothers.

“The prime suspect behind last week’s grisly blood curdling murder of four men in Kitengela, has been arrested by detectives. Benson Melonyie ole Mungai, 40, was arrested from his hideout in Kitengela town last evening, where he has been hiding since he masterminded the killings,” said the DCI.

“His arrest comes a few days after DCI took over investigations into the murders and moved with speed to pursue the killers,” further read the statement.

According to the DCI, Ole Mungai was positively linked with the brutal killings after forensic investigations placed him at the scene of the crime.

Detectives are in pursuit of the rest of the killers, as Ole Mungai remains in custody to assist with further investigations.


The four young men were coming from a birthday party when they met their death. They were killed and they motorbikes burnt down after area residents suspected that they wanted to kill their cattle.

Meanwhile Lucy Wanjiru the mother of the two brothers Fredrick Muriithi and Victor Mwangi who has been living outside the country jetted in the country on Sunday.

Wanjiru was received at the Jommo Kenyatta International Airport with friends and family on Sunday.

Muriithi and Mwangi were killed alongside Nicholas Musa and Mike George.
