Man Charged For Attempting To Defraud Businessman Ksh. 2 Million


A man has been charged at the Milimani Law courts with conspiracy to obtain Ksh. 2 Million from a businessman contrary to Section 313 of the penal code.

The prosecution has charged Joseph  Bushuru Etindi together with other two not before the court of obtaining Ksh. 2.4 Million from Gilbert Kipkirui by pretending to be in a position to sell him cancer medicine known as Herceptin.

“Joseph Bushuru Etindi on the 9th  March  2021 and 10th  May 2021 in Nairobi  together  with other  two not  before  court  in false pretence  tried  to obtain  a sum of two million four hundred  and ninety-five  thousand  shillings  from Gilbert  Kipkirui by pretending  to  be in a position  to sell to the complainant  36 Herceptin  of intravenous  injection,” read the Charge Sheet.

The accused person has however denied the charges before Senior Magistrate Susan Shitubi and has been released on cash bail of Ksh. 495,000.


The magistrate also ordered the suspect be supplied with consolidated charge sheet so that case can go at per with that of the co-accused who had taken his plea earlier.

“I order  the accused  person  be supplied  with charge sheet  and witness  statement  before 26th April, the accused  person  is granted  a cash bail of Ksh. 400,000  and contact person,” Shitubi stated.

The case will the mentioned on 26th April 2022.
