A man who allegedly failed to settle his bill at a city hotel was charged in Milimani.

Namanyi Lubanga was charged with failing to pay after enjoying accommodation and breakfast sh 466,965 at Pan Pacific Hotel in Westlands, Nairobi County.

The complainant in the case told the court that the accused person checked in into the hotel and promised to pay the bills once his cheque matured but failed to do so.

The complainant averred that they decided to report the accused to the police when he realized he was packing his belongings and planning to leave the hotel before paying for the services rendered.

The accused, however, denied any wrongdoing before Senior Principal Magistrate Gilbert Shikwe and pleaded for a lenient bond term.

Lubanga was released on a Sh150000 bond with a surety of the same amount.

Earlier, his lawyer told the court that Lubanga was innocent and was a victim by circumstance after he was told by someone to check in and would later join him pay the bill

The case will be mentioned on 29th this month for more directions.
