Man cries for justice after hospital bribed in-laws to cover up wife’s death

A man in Mathare area is crying foul after his wife died mysteriously while undergoing a C-Section surgery at the Joy Nursing Hospital.

Kevin Sasia says while his baby made it, he suspects that his wife died out of medical negligence from the doctors while delivering her baby at the hospital.

Sasia claims that the hospital bosses have tried to bribe him with first Ksh. 25,000 then Ksh. 10,000 in order to stop following up his wife’s death to no success.

“My wife walked into the hospital while very healthy, she only wanted to give birth to her baby unfortunately she died on the operating table,” said Sasia.

“They first  chased me from the hospital and demanded that I do not leave the body of my wife in that hospital… I begged them to let the body spend the night in their facility so that I could organize to transfer it the next day but they refused,” he narrates.

According to Sasia, the hospital gave him the hospital ambulance for free and even waived off the the Ksh. 12,500 balance he had left.

Speaking to Ghetto Radio News, Sasia alleges that his brothers in-law  however accepted a Ksh. 30,000 bribe from the hospital and stopped following up the matter.

According to Sasia, postmortem reports showed that his wife died from an overdose of the anaesthesia that she was given at the hospital.

He is now appealing to the relevant authorities to investigate the matter and give him justice.

Efforts by Ghetto Radio reporters to reach the hospital’s management were futile as the directors declined to comment on the issue.
