Police in Nairobi have arrested a 23 year old man believed to have lured and cohabited with a 13 year old girl to his house.
Marcos Menza Masumbuko was arrested at the Mathare Police Depot in Nairobi after being trailed by DCI Detectives.
Police say Masumbuko aka Vasco lured the 13 year old girl by disguising himself as a teacher offering free on-line classes and stayed with her for a few days.
“Intelligence drawn from forensic analysis led detectives to a social media platform where the suspect befriended and lured the minor to his house, where the two cohabited for the period before facilitating her escape to her aunt’s place in Nyakach, Kisumu County,” said the police.
Police say having learnt that he was being trailed by the DCI Masumbuko shaved his dreadlocks in a bid to escape the police net.
He allegedly then aided the girl’s return to Nyakach in Kisumu County.
“DCI CRIB detectives working in collaboration with Nairobi Region detectives are working to establish the circumstances surrounding her disappearance and how the same minor travelled to her aunt’s home in Nyakach on 17th October, 2020,” said the DCI.
In his bid to evade arrest, the suspect aka Vasco disguised by shaving his dreadlocks immediately after a missing child report was published.
The girl’s disappearance had been reported by her parents who live in Upperhill Nairobi area.
