Manchester City are sweating on the fitness of Sergio Aguero ahead of this weekend’s clash with Everton.
The striker limped out of Argentina training on Sunday with a calf problem and will now undergo tests.
Aguero is now a doubt for the World Cup qualifier with Paraguay on Wednesday night.
Aguero has had similar problems already this season having dropped out of the squad for World Cup qualifiers in August.
Nicolas Gaitan is likely to come in against Paraguay but Guardiola will hope he has recovered in time to face Everton on Saturday.
City are already set to be without Kevin De Bruyne for the clash with Everton while Raheem Sterling is also a doubt after withdrawing from the England squad.
Bacary Sagna is definitely out after suffering a hamstring tear while on international duty with France.
City have been boosted by the early return of Aguero’s countrymen Pablo Zabaleta and Nicolas Otamendi.
The pair are suspended for the clash with Paraguay and will return to City training this week.
