Matatu Conductor Who Wanted To Sell Kidney To Raise Daughter’s School Fee, Gets Help


Josephine Nyokabi a matatu conductor who wanted to sell her kidney in order to get school fees for her form four daughter has finally received help.

Nyokabi whose sad story was highlighted by Ghetto Radio News got a well wisher who paid her daughter’s school fee for the whole year.

Nyokabi initially only wanted Ksh. 66,000 to clear last year’s arrears and this term’s fee of Ksh. 23,000 but the well wisher who sought anonymity decided to clear the arrears plus the whole year’s school fees.

Nyokabi says her daughter’s school fees piled following her efforts to clear her first born’s school fee who sat for her KCSE exams last year.

“After my story was run on Ghetto Radio, i received a call at around 8 am. He asked me questions and told me to give him the details of my daughter. I then gave it to him. He then called the school and was given the total amount of money required,” narrated Nyokabi.

Nyokabi says that in the evening the man sent him a receipt of Ksh. 80,000 paid to the school.

Here daughter Clere Wanjiku has also appreciated the support and pledged to work hard.
