Matatu operators plying Nairobi’s Kayole route have sued Cord leaders seeking compensation for property damaged during the party’s anti-IEBC protests.
Prime Transcity Sacco Ltd and Agnes Wacera, the owner of the matatu burned during last Monday’s demonstrations, on Friday say Cord’s protests should be banned because they will cause further destruction and hurt operators’ livelihoods.
Wacera says she is still servicing the Sh4 million loan she took out to buy her matatu.
Last week the operators towed the wreckage to Cord leader Raila Odinga’s office at Capitol Hill.
Justice Isaac Lenaola directed the operators to serve the application on Cord leaders for hearing today.
