A section of Mathare residents have raised concern over a huge number of foreigners that have been coming into the area despite the current travel ban.

Speaking to Ghetto Radio news, the residents say that a huge number of Ugandan and Tanzanian nationals have been traveling in and out of Nairobi despite the current cessation of movement imposed by the government.

Dickson Mulimo, a resident of Mathare says that the foreigners are travelling to the country with the help of truck drivers.

“They are using unscrupulous ways to get into the country, most of them use truck drivers at the borders to get into the country and travel to Nairobi. Here in Mathare and Huruma there’s a huge population of Ugandans and Tanzanians and surprisingly their relatives still travelling to visit them as usual.” He said

The residents are now calling on authorities to investigate the matter and take action.
