Austine Mieso a KCPE candidate from Mathare slums who scored 412 marks says he wants to be a lawyer.
Mieso who lives with his brother in the sprawling slums of Mathare however fears that he might fail to get to High School despite his high scores.
“My family as it is cannot raise my school fee. My brother does not have a job, he depends on vibarua that are sometimes not forthcoming to feed us,” narrates Mieso.
The candidate Kiboro Primary school expressed shock at his stellar performance considering the odds presented by the pandemic.
“In Mathare we not only had to worry about the pandemic but also the recurring fires that burn down houses leaving many in the cold,” he stated.
Speaking to Ghetto Radio News, he attributed his success to God and his determination to get out of the slums.
He is however appealing to well wishers to help him raise the school fees since his brother who lives from hand to mouth might not be able to raise the school fees.
Kiboro Primary School Senior teacher Beatrice Sombe also thanks the parents at the school for their cooperation with teachers and the parents that saw the candidates perform well.
