Mayhem In Eastleigh After Two People Were Caught With BVR Kits Stolen In Mandera
Two people were last night arrested in Eastleigh over claims of registering people with the BVR kits that were allegedly stolen by Al Shabaab.
The two were allegedly arrested at a lodge in Eastleigh Nairobi.
“We have been trailing the two people in Eastleigh for a week now. They have been switching hotels and registering people. But we finally caught up with them,” said a resident.
“We caught them with IDs of foreigners who have used unscrupulous means to get the National IDs, the BVR kits and transfer papers,” he said.
The arrests caused mayhem at the Pangani police station last night with residents demanding that the police shed light on the matter.
Police were forced to lobe tear gas to disperse the residents.
Mandera Senator Billow Kerrow has called on the IEB Cto come clean on the issue.
“IEBC should come clean on persons arrested last night at a lodge in Eastleigh by Pagani police, with BVR, alleged to be ‘corrupting’ data,” he tweeted.
IEBC is set to comment on the issue.
