The event was marked with pomp and color as Maytals Sound System, a reggae sound system in Nairobi marked their first anniversary. Heads from other sound systems showed their love and support by showing up on that particular event which was held at LPD lounge on Wednesday night.
The young and vibrant CEO of Maytals Sound System, Selector Tsunami explained that it had not been an easy ride since the reggae music industry is very competitive and a lot of sound systems keep on emerging.
However, Selector Tsunami says that the future is bright and he hopes to expand his deejay academy, which is located at Imenti House and also to do many corporate reggae gigs which will help in raising the reggae bar in terms of corporate sponsorship and promotion.
Maytals Sounds highest moments in the previous year was performing alongside international reggae superstars namely Queen Ifrica and Capleton, and also deejaying at the “reggae under the sun a corporate reggae concert that takes place once every three months.”
In attendance was CEO Rasstyle Sounds, the Musical Sherrif, and Dj Patiz, Urban beats DJ Ronnie boy, MC Teargas ,Mc Squim, Daddy Family djs, Mc Kevo Baddman and other sound system supporters.
We wish him the best in his future endeavors.
