President Ruto has on Wednesday released the names of his second batch of proposed nominated Cabinet Secretaries during a press conference at Statehouse in Nairobi.

Among those named include ODM Chairman John Mbadi for National Treasury and Economic Planning,Salim Mvurya (Trade), Rebecca Miano who was first nominated as the Attorney General has been assigned to (Tourism and Wildlife.

The president has also nominated James Wandanyi for Energy and Petroleum, Kipchumba Murkomen for Youth Affairs, Creative and Sports, Hassan Joho (mining), Alfred Mutua (Labour), Wycliffe Oparanya (MSME), former Attorney General Justin Muturi has been nominated to Public Service and finally Stella Soi Lang’at for Gender and Culture.

Ruto further stated that he was still working on naming the other nominees “shortly”.

The first batch of his 11 proposed Cabinet Secretaries were nominated last Friday, five of these were new nominees while six of the remaining were member of the previous dissolved Cabinet, who were reshuffled in different dockets with only Kindiki returning back to the same seat.

First Batch Nominees

The names included: Aden Duale nominated formerly as the Defense Secretary but was later reshuffled to the Environment with Soipan Tuya.

Kithure Kindiki (Interior), Alice Wahome (Land), Soipan Tuya (Defense), Davis Chirchir (Transport), Dr. Debora Mlongo (Health), Julius Migosi Ogamba (Education), Margaret Nyambura Ndungu (ICT), Andrew Muhia (Agriculture) and finally Eric Muuga as the CS for Water.

The dissolvement and re nomination press release, follows five weeks of protests in the country against the president and his administration with the young Gen Z fellows demanding the rejection of Finance Bill 2024 and the removal of incompetent leaders from office.
