Gengetone music new sensation Mbogi Genje has landed a sponsorship deal to fight drug abuse among the youth.
The ambassadorial deal given by Ruai Family Hospital (RFH) will see the new sheng masters become the face of a new rehabilitation center being opened by RFH CEO Dr. Maxwell Okoth.
Dr. Okoth says that he found Mbogi Genje as most suitable for the role based on their connection with the youth.
“We are opening a drug and rehabilitation center and we have identified Mbogi genje as best to work with because of their rapport with the youth,” Dr. Okoth told a local publication.
Prior to landing the sponsorship deal, the artistes met with Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi sonko who gave them Ksh. 200,000, a mac book and tablets worth Ksh. 300,000.
The artistes have also landed gigs in various clubs within Nairobi among them Clarett Lounge along Thika Road.
