MCA moves to court demanding late MP Ken Okoth’s benefits

Nominated MCA Anne Thumbi has moved to court to block parliament from releasing former Kibra MP Ken Okoth’s benefits to his widow Monica Lavender.

Thumbi who sired a child with Okoth says that she is afraid that Okoth’s widow might disinherit her child.

Thumbi also alleges that Monica has refused to disclose to her Okoth’s key assets and the amount of money in his accounts.

She also wants the court to give her Ksh. 148,000 for her son’s school fees.

She argues that her son’s lack of school fees might see him thrown out of the international school he attends.

Apart from school fees Thumbi also wants maintenance fee for her child.

Okoth died in 2019 after suffering from colorectal cancer.

His body was cremated at the Kariokor crematorium a wish that his mother had disputed.
