Members of the County Assembly of Nairobi allied to governor Mike Sonko have gone into hiding in what many see as a strategy to deny the assembly quorum ahead of Sonkos impeachment tomorrow.
Close sources told Ghetto Radio News that most of the MCAs travelled to Mombasa at undisclosed place just to ensure that there is no quorum.
Ng’ando ward MCA Peter Wahinya confirmed the same saying that the alleged MCAs are not ready to take part in the impeachment process.
“We will not be present, we will not be there if we are not there there will no numbers” Wahinya said.
“We are receiving calls from some of the MCAs wives that their husbands are missing let them talk to their spouses…but as ODM we want to assure them that the quorum is there and we will impeach Sonko and parade our MCAs after the two hour session,” Minority Whip Peter Imwatok told Ghetto Radio News.
The MCAs insist that the impeachment motion is on course despite court barring them from debating over it .
After winning first round in court Sonko is now rallying MCAs to tactically avoid the tomorrow’s sitting to cause a quorum hitch a move that will see no business in the house.
