MCAs Warn Elachi Against Move To Reinstate Suspended County Employees
A section of Nairobi MCAs have faulted Nairobi County Speaker Beatrice Elachi’s move to call back to work key county officials suspended by Nairobi County Governor Mike Sonko.
The MCAs claim that they will not allow county employees sent home on corruption charges to get back to the office.
The MCAs led by the Majority leader Charles Thuo claim that their return of the officers is rushed and illegal as well.
Elachi who dramatically resumed office in November last year directed the County Public Service Board (CPSB) to fast-track the return of suspended staff, including County Executive Committee members.
She made the announcement after a five-hour closed-door meeting with the Members of the County Assembly.
Meanwhile The Council of Governors (CoG) has okayed Governor Mike Sonko’s nomination of a deputy governor and urged the county assembly to expedite her vetting.
