The office of Migori County Governor Okoth Obado has rubbished claims linking him to the abduction of Nation journalist Barack Oduor and the late Sharon Otieno.

Migori County communications boss Nicholas Anyuor says the allegations are meant to damage the reputation of the Governor.

Oyuor demanded that the media refrain from associating Obado with unsubstantiated claims that he allegedly impregnated and abandoned the university student.

He added that the incident is a political witchhunt and police should be allowed to conduct their investigations with no interruptions.

According to him, the arrest of the Governor’s PA Michael Oyamo is not enough to link the county boss to the abduction saga.

Sharon Otieno was on Wednesday morning found dead in Kodera Forest, two days after she went missing.

The student who was seven months pregnant had reportedly been abducted alongside the Nation journalist on Monday evening.
