Miguna Miguna declares interest to vie for Nairobi Governor’s seat
Firebrand politician Miguna Miguna has announced that he will vie for the Nairobi County Gubernatorial seat.
this follows the impeachment of former Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko by the Nairobi County Assembly and consequently by the senate.
Miguna says that his decision to vie came after receiving competent legal advice from Waikwa Wanyoike.
“Having received competent legal advice from Waikwa Wanyoikeon Dec. 19, 2020, I, Miguna Miguna, a Kenyan citizen by birth and registered voter in Nairobi, hereby declare my candidature for the position of Governor of Nairobi in the upcoming by-election,” he wrote on facebook.
Miguna has also urged volunteers for his campaign to come forward and help him campaign..
Miguna was deported out of the country to Canada after his controversial swearing in of opposition leader Raila Odinga.
The government has since then defied several court orders given to allow Miguna back into the country.
His attempts to fly back into the country have also been allegedly frustrated by the government forcing him to turn back to Canada.
