Former Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko has come to the aid of Gor- Mahia’s Fc by paying the debt they had at Camp Toyoyo.

The Management of Camp Toyoyo were claiming that the football club owed them and they were barred from the facility last week.

Ex-governor Sonko, upon hearing the grapevine about K’Ogalo’s woes ahead of the Mashemeji Derby made frantic inquiries about the debts involved and promised to settle it in Thursday training scheduled for lunch time.

Speaking to Ghetto Radio Off-side teams, Former Organising secretary Judith Nyangi said that he went and talked with the former governor Mike Sonko to help them.

Nyangi said that the Governor had cleared the training fee for the club to train until the end of the season.

The ex-secretary said that he requested the former governor to also help in motivating the players which he did.

“Nilitoka na wao grao na nikaenda na wao na nikawapea pesa yao, nilipea captain awagawie,” she added.

She also said that although she is an ex- official, her love for football forced her to go look for help so that the team can remain intact.

She added that they have a paybill number which is managed by the fans and will be used to help and motivate the players.

Account inarunniwa na fans hiyo ofisi haishiki hii dooh tuone kama tunaweza peleka hii club to the next level kwa sababu hii ofisi imetufail,” added Nyangi.

Camp Toyoyo is a training ground located in Jericho estate and is used for training with big clubs like Gor Mahia and AFC leopards.
