Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commissioner (IEBC) Returning Officer for Embakasi East constituency Daniel Mbolu Musyoka, who went missing on Thursday, August 11, has been found dead.
The family confirmed that Musyoka was found dead in Amboseli Park, Kajiado county.
Police officers from Loitoktok, Kajiado South sub-county had confirmed that they responded to an alert after the body of a middle-aged man was found in the forest.
“His two sisters identified the body lying at Loitokntok sub-county hospital last night. We are waiting for communication from police headquarters either to ferry the body to the city mortuary or to remain here,” Loitoktok police boss Kipruto Ruto stated.
“It was evident the victim was killed elsewhere and the body dumped in the valley. The body had scars indicating torture from assailants before the death. He possibly died a painful death.”
The police believe that Musyoka was killed elsewhere and his body thrown into the forest.
Despite the fact that the man’s clothing, a tracksuit and a Maasai shuka, were discovered at the valley’s edge, the police chief said the body was nude.
Musyoka has been a national headline after IEBC chairperson, Wafula Chebukati, announced on Friday, August 12 that he had been reported missing.
“Our returning officer for Embakasi East Constituency, Daniel Musyoka has been reported missing while on duty at the East African School of Aviation tallying centre,” he announced.
Musyoka’s family has been calling upon Kenyans through sharing his photos on the major social media platforms to help find their kin, noting that they combed through hospitals and mortuaries but could not find him.
