Mlango Kubwa MCA defends “Tribal” bursary list

Mlango Kubwa Member of county assembly Patricia Mutheu  has defended her recent bursary list that has caused  public uproar over favoritism on a specific tribe and lack of gender balance.

Mutheu who is a first time MCA told Ghetto Radio News that  those picked were  qualified individuals who applied for the chances.

She says those complaining are those who did not apply and are only interested in fighting her politically.

‘‘Those complaining are the ones who did not apply. I wonder how  the list is tribal if they cant’ follow simple instructions  and apply for this bursaries.’’  She said.

She further defended herself on why 98 percent of the candidates she picked were male candidates  stating that she had a similar program early this year with an a non governmental organization and at least 40 ladies benefited.

‘‘We have already enrolled women in another driving  program that was being sponsored by an NGO in the area so they should not have any issue on this,’’ she added.
