Mombasa artist travels to Nairobi for KDF job from Uhuru

A Mombasa artist traveled to Nairobi to see President Uhuru Kenyatta for a job in the Kenya Defense Forces.

Thirty-year-old Collins Ochieng’ Obado who gifted President Kenyatta portraits of his family in September last year traveled to Nairobi on Thursday to see the Interior Principal Secretary.

“What brought me from Mombasa is that I was coming to Harambee House to see PS Karanja Kibicho. I spoke to the President last year when he came to launch the road in Changamwe and asked him for a job in the KDF and he told Mr. Kibicho to take my details, I waited for the call from Kibicho until now that KDF recruitments took place,” he said.

Collins, who had participated but failed in the just concluded KDF recruitment exercise, and is adamant in joining the forces says President Kenyatta should remember the promise he made him last year and get him the job in KDF.

“I know my age does not allow me to join KDF but if I can get the opportunity I am sure I can do this job,” said Collins.

He says he will not turn down any other job given by the President but is adamant to join KDF.

“If he were to offer me another job I would still take it but I just want to join KDF. It has been my lifelong dream, I have been chasing it for more than ten years. In my heart I know I can do this job,” he said.

Collins has been going around media houses to seek audience as a way to remind President Kenyatta of his alleged promise.
