Mombasa Youth Hold Protests Against Palestine Killings
Mombasa youth and other residents on Monday held protests over the killings going on in Palestine.
The protesting youth urged the government to not remain silent and speak out against the killings.
Together with human rights groups, the protesting group called for a Free Palestine and an end to the gross human rights violations taking place during the ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestine.
“As an organisation, HAKI Africa will continue to support the respect of human rights including a #FreePalestine just as we support #BlackLivesMatter and just as we supported a free #SouthSudan,” said Haki Africa who joined the youths in the protests.
On Sunday, an Israeli air strike in Gaza destroyed several homes, killing 42 Palestinians, including 10 children, as militants fired rockets at Israel.
Meanwhile, Israeli military said the civilian casualties were unintentional as the jets attacked a tunnel system used by militants, which collapsed, therefore bringing the homes down.
However, Hamas, the militant group that controls Gaza, called it pre-meditated killing.
