Former member of gengetone group, Boondock’s gang, Exray Taniua has revealed that Maddox was destroyed by money leading to his devastating fall from grace to grass.
Exray made the sentiments during a recent online engagement on Obinna T.v affirming that Maddox’s fall was money related.
According to Exray, they were making large amounts of money doing concerts which were coming in plenty.

He added that in a single day they could perform in five shows with each show fetching 150k which they shared equally.
The boom saw Maddox absconding their other gigs as he partied hard at the coast.
“Hii story yote inakujanga na story na doo ukipata pesa si kila mtu anaweza handle…Tulikuwa tunapta doo mob, tulikuwa tunafanya five shows a day, kunatime tulifanya campus zote like Nairobi ilkuwa cultural five shows hiyo time tulikuwa tunalipwa 150..Kunatime hadi tulianza kumkosa kwa shows hakuji show sa tunampigia ako Diani” asserted Exray partly.
Exray further noted that before the windfall, Maddox was the most disciplined and talented member.
Maddox was also a gifted painter who made some extra cash from the venture.
Exray further opined that Maddox’s fall was orchestrated by not having a girlfriend.
The last nail on Maddox’s coffin was the depletion of funds which drove him to depression.

Mutual Break Up
Exray also disclosed that they had a mutual agreement to disband the group, Boondock’s for solo careers.
He added that Maddox kicked off well setting his new You Tube account and even was the first one to drop a song.
However, along the way things went south for Maddox.
The group which started from a church background died out just like that after 3 years of togetherness.
Nonetheless, they are regarded as one of the pioneers of the Gengetone sound which took the country by storm.

From the money they made, Exray affirmed that he opened a couple of businesses the same way with the other group member, Odi Wa Muranga.
While summing up, Exray revealed that his eight month silence came about due to the death of music producer.
