Business stalls along Desai road in Ngara were today demolished in an a dawn operation that left more than 300 traders jobless.
According to the traders Kenya Railways did not issue them with notices a move that has seen several of them lose properties.
‘‘I was called by security officers at around 5am telling me that our stalls are being brought down and when I rushed to Desai road all of my valuables including customers’ clotheshad already been destroyed, ’’ a trader told Ghetto Radio News.
‘‘The beacon that demarcates Railways land and county government is very clear but this bulldozer ignored all those and swept every stall along Desai,’’they said.
They are now demanding for compensation for all the affected traders.
‘‘We have nothing at hand they came and destroyed all our property and goods which is against the law,’’ they added.
