The Directorate Of Criminal Investigations detectives have arrested three suspects believed to be behind a series of motorbike theft in Loitotok Town in Kajiado County.

The three suspects Daniel Mwaniki, William Nkadanyo and Agnes Wambui reportedly steal motorbikes after posing as customers and along the way drug their victims.

According to a statement shared by the DCI on social media, the two men use the woman in the gang as the bait.

“Posing as a pillion passenger, Wambui stupefies her victims along the way before disappearing with the motorbikes, once the nduthimen lose consciousness,” said the DCI in a statement.

Wambui was the first to be arrested before leading the police officers to her two colleagues.

Ready Market

The suspect who was arrested after comprehensive investigations led detectives to her other accomplices including one Daniel Mwaniki and William Nkadanyo alias Saningo. Nkadanyo was arrested in Loitoktok town where he is believed to have a ready market for the stolen motorcycles.

According to the investigative body the suspects operate under well   organised criminal gang that masterminds the disappearance of  motorbikes in various towns in the country  before ferrying them to Oloitoktok where they are sneaked outside the country.

Stolen mobile phones were also recovered from the suspects including one that had been stolen from a motorbike rider, who was stupefied before he also lost his bike in Juja, Kiambu County. Over 30 tablets believed to be stupefying drugs were also recovered from the suspects, who were discovered to have pending criminal cases in Ongata Rongai, Kajiado County and in Diani, Kwale County.
