Mountain View residents Westalands constituency have finally reached an agreement with the Nairobi Metropolitan Services over a piece of land marked for construction of a new health centre.
The NMS and office of the area MCA Maurice Ochieng conducted a second public participation meeting in a move to unlock resistance by those who will be affected.
‘‘We are in agreement with the affected residents and there will be no forceful evictions, this is the second public participation and we have reached a consensus to have a health centre here in Gichagi village,’’ Maurice said.
According to World Health Organisation in every 100,000 population a level 2 hospital is needed, something that has been lacking in Mountain View.
‘‘This is a major boost to the area residents, it will serve many who have been seeking health in Kangemi and we must thank the NMS for this,’’ he added.
The site will be handed over officially to the contractor next week.
