MP Shah Hospital has released the body of a woman who was stabbed in Kangemi and died at the hospital.
Matilda Anyango’s medical bill had outrageously risen to 858,355 only 12 hours after he was admitted at the hospital.
MP Shah Chief Operations Officer Toseef Din denied claims that the hospital had detained the body of the 32 year old woman over her family’s failure to settle the bill.
“Her body has been lying at the hospital mortuary pending postmortem that was carried out by the government pathologist yesterday in the presence of her family,” said Din in a statement.
The hospital further defended itself stating that Anyango was admitted in the hospital even without financial commitment as per the hospital’s protocol.
Din further stated that the family is free to take the body for burial after an amicable deal they arrived at with the hospital.
“The MP Shah Hospital and the family of Matilda Anyango havearrived at an amicable settlement. The deceased was rushed to MP Shah Hospital Accident and Emergency Department on the night of April 11 after she was found unconscious near her place of residence and was resuscitated before being taken to theatre for emergency surgery,” further read the statement.
