Parliament has voted to pass  the controversial   Finance Bill, 2024 sailing it through to the   Second Reading stage.

MPS Reaction on Finance Bill

Meanwhile the opposition MPs who opposed the bill have vowed to stage country-wide demos until changes are made on the bill.

“It is the first time parliament is being teargassed whether you do that or not the Bill remain unconstitutional and You must stop using  force to pass it.Stop killing our children they have said no.” Millicent Mabona Suba MP said.

“Look at CBD it’s chaos Kenyans have come out in large number to say no why are you forcing parliament to pass this illegal Bill.You  have gone ahead of even threatening members of Parliament to pass the Bill failure to which their projects will not be taken care of. This is impunity of the highest order,” Amos Mwago Starehe Member of Parliament.

“It is a sad day and we shall not relent, the fight is on and we are urging our members to wait for further directions.” Minority Chief Whip Junet Mohammed said.
