Viral Audio Interview
Barely a week ago, Shabba Ranks was at an interview where he failed to acknowledge Bounty Killer as the ‘General’.
The full interview is not yet out but a short audio clip from the said interview has already gone viral.
Shabba Ranks is heard replying to the reporter while naming fellow artists General Trees, General Degree and General Echo as the only three generals in dancehall.
The veteran singer fails completely to acknowledge Bounty Killer’s existence among the generals.
“Any other general a plan fi funeral” fires Shabba Ranks partly.
Now, Mr. Vegas thinks that Shabba Ranks time is up and he no longer commands attention as before unlike Bounty Killer who’s still grounded to the craft.
He further added that even Buju Banton who served 10 years in jail still came out and fought for his space with several releases as compared to Shabba Ranks who has gone mute for years now.
This is not the first time for Shabba Ranks to be roasted for not doing much in regard to mentoring other artists and the growth of dancehall music.
Dissenting voices have even come from his hometown, Sea View Gardens where they acknowledge Bounty’s efforts than Shabba’s when it comes to growth of the culture.
Mr. Vegas further disclosed that Sean Paul had done much in promoting dancehall abroad than the ‘mouthy’ Shabba Ranks.
