Mukuru Kwa Njenga Girl Who Trekked For One Hour Every Morning Scores 401 Marks

A 15 year old girl from Mukuru Kwa Njenga slums has managed to beat the odds and scored 401 marks in the just released KCPE exams.

Joyce Kemunto a student at Bridge Kwa Njenga Academy says she has had to walk for one hour every morning to pursue her education due to the poor status of her family.

“I am very happy about these results,” said Kemunto.

According to Kemunto, hard work and very friendly parents also contributed to her attaining the very high marks.

Kemunto hopes to secure a place at her dream school, the Alliance Girls High School.

She has been a student at the Bridge Kwa Njenga Academy. Bridge Community Schools bring schooling and home learning for pupils in remote, underserved communities worldwide.
