Muriithi Mwenje Criticises MP George Theuri Over Bursaries Stampede
Jubilee Party Embakasi West political aspirant Muriithi Mwenje has taken a swipe at Embakasi West MP George Theuri’s method of issuing bursaries that saw several people injured.
Muriithi Mwenje says that bursaries should be issued to the needy in a first and not the chaotic first come first serve basis that had women injured.
“This guy made women sleep in the cold next to a swimming pool in the name of bursary issuance. What kind of leadership is that?” he posed.
“This guy even discriminated against the needy people calling them mtu w mwenje sijui mtu wa nani… We want to make sure that there is equal distribution of resources,” said Mwenje.
The son of former Embakasi MP David Mwenje says that the current MP has also failed in addressing the plights of the people of Embakasi.
“We have given this guy 10 years and he has done nothing. The problems we had here 10 years ago are still existent,” he said.
He has further called for joint nominations for parties under the Azimio La Umoja umbrella to avoid in-house wrangles.
“In Nairobi, we have our brothers called ODM. We love them very much and so we would love to have them in these joint nominations because we are not afraid of having joint nominations,” he said.
Mwenje was speaking during an Embakasi West Jubilee Party delegates meeting where he reiterated the strength of the party under the leadership of President Uhuru Kenyatta.
“I want to tell you that Jubilee Party led by Uhuru Kenyatta is not dead. We have started working. The guy on this seat has done nothing for the past 10 years,” said Mwenje.
