John Gichiri Njau a Kikuyu musician behind the hateful Kamba song is expected in court today to face hate speech charges.
Njau’s case was taken to court by the National Cohesion and Integration Commission.
Njau’s co accused featured in the song titled Ikamba is however still being hunted and will be charged in court.
The Kikuyu song was produced in reaction to the ban on charcoal trade in Kitui which was imposed by Governor Charity Ngilu to save trees.
The ban has been in place since 2014 but was enforced after Ngilu assumed office.
